I live in Tucson, grew up in northern Indiana. I learned to play chess over coffee, cake and wine in southwest Germany when I was 19 years old. Easily the most exquisite Sunday afternoons I've ever lived. Also memorable is a week playing chess in Mexico City. These days most of my chess is played with a friend at a coffee shop down the street. My productive hours are spent at a place called the Cooling Center where folks can find respite from the heat and pick up a lunch.
