My interests in chess tend towards the organizing and directing (that is, being an arbiter). I am a National Tournament Director for US Chess as well as an International Arbiter for both FIDE and ICCF. I was arbiter for the US Championship in 2007 and 2018, and I have been chief organizer for the US Championship for Blind Players the last five years. I was chief arbiter for the 2022 Canadian Senior Championship in Halifax.
Several years ago Gary Walters, who was then Vice President of what was then USCF suggested that I might really enjoy engine assisted chess (what is known to SchemingMind as Advanced Chess) on ICCF, and I trusted him, so I gave it a try. To my surprise, I found that there is a lot more to it than just running one's engine for hours at a position and then playing whatever moves the engine suggests. I also found that I had a certain aptitude for it, having earned the Correspondence Chess Master title in 2020.
If you're interested, you can look at my page there at http://www.iccf.com/player?id=514948 You'll be able to see my record and my public game history, just to give you an idea of how interesting it can be. I look forward to sharing "Advanced Chess" with you, and will happily answer any questions.
